“But you look great!”
“But you don’t look sick!?!”
“But you’re walking just find now!”

They are in total denial of the truth. I give them one more chance. I reply,
“Oh, I guess you didn’t hear or understand me…” and I proceed to describe my experience. If they are still in denial of my truth, my reality, I stop. They don’t want to understand, they don’t want to believe that life could really BE that challenging, that threatening, that scary.

We are not complainers! We just want our reality to be understood. Why is that so hard to understand? Many times I’ve bit my tongue to keep from being just as rude as I want to reply, “Really? And you don’t look like an idiot!”
