CFRD Fact #13

Genotype is predictive of pancreatic status:

Delta F508 (the most common genetic defect in Cystic Fibrosis) homozygous genotype is associated with pancreatic insufficiency in nearly all patients.

This genotype is also at higher risk for CFRD.

  1. Aspen, I appreciated your explanation on Mar. 3 of the difference between Type 1 and CFRD. It was really helpful to me to understand the difficulties you experience in knowing how much insulin you need.
